01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Along the lively shopping streets of Ueno Ameyoko, Beri Mun catches the eye on the 1st floor of the Ameyoko Center Building with its display of colorful fruit sweets. The house specialty, tanghulu (candied fruit skewers), features a paper-thin sugar glaze that crunches cleanly before giving way to bursts of fresh fruit juice. The signature fresh strawberry candy comes in multiple sizes, alongside mixed strawberry-and-grape skewers, shine muscat grapes, and candied apples, making them convenient treats to enjoy while exploring the market.

For a cooler refreshment, the shop also serves Korean-style frozen yogurt, noted for its clean tang and smooth texture. Variations range from a honeycomb bowl richly accented with natural sweetness to fresh strawberry and banana toppings. Fruit-packed acai bowls, along with fruit milk drinks and smoothies, round out the offerings, providing plenty of refreshing choices depending on what you crave.

Skewers of freshly sliced melon and pineapple are also available for a quick bite. You can take your sweets to go or grab a quick rest at the storefront seats if space is open. Payment is cash only, so having small change ready makes ordering on the go quick and simple.
